Amazing geographical features found in Tonga

It is now time for the boring stuff, geography :]

Tonga may be seen as a country with non important geographical features, because Tonga is literally a group of lots of islands, but for my surprise, Tonga has actual gegraphical features that aren't in other continents.

Let's start with the most interesting one that various islands have, limestone!

.
Let me explain, please

Some islands of Tonga, such as the Tongatapu Island, have been capped by coral polyps and foraminifera(scientifical stuff), this has led to coral rocks and limestone reefs that protect reefs and islands from sea erosion.

This means that limestone has saved various islands in Tonga from becoming terrain with holes.

See? sometimes the less interesting stuff can be helpful

Another geografical features that we can find in Tonga aren't as interesting as the previous one, but are worth mentioning, these are:

  • A volcanic ridge in Kao Island(an island in the ha'pai sub group)
  • Caves formed by the dissolution of coral and limestone rock in the Vava'u sub-group(What happens when limestone isn't "strong" enough)

Sometimes nature and geography can be very interesting.

Goodbye for now
